Shit Happens

You lose your job, misplace your phone, a loved one dies – varying degrees of stuff that just ruins your day, brings you to your knees.

I get it.

We have all been there at different times in our lives.  Sometimes the events spiral one after the other in an unrelenting torrent of bad luck and we can’t help but wonder what exactly was it we did to so thoroughly piss off the Universe.

Shit happens.

It’s just life.

Time and place and events all differ for each one of us but we have all been there and no matter how hard your specifics have seemed to others theirs have been equally as bad – on this we cannot judge.  We only have our own experiences to define the extent of our feelings but just know that you’re not in this alone.

The only thing we can do is accept our circumstances as we often have no control on their coming or going, we just live through it.

At the end of the day it’s just life.  All of it.  And you will come out the other side. You always have – history tells you that and so you always will.  If you believe in that – know that what goes down will eventually go back up then you’re already half way through the shit.

Where you’ll end up on the other side of it all is anyone’s guess but it’s probably where you need to be – look back at past events and see the connections to where you are now:

-a lost job leading to meeting the love of your life

-an accident strengthening a relationship that might otherwise have fallen apart

-an injury leading to a healthier lifestyle

So many shit stories leading to beauty on the other side – who knows if you would have gotten to that same place without the shit storm occurring – perhaps but I can almost guarantee that it would have taken much longer to reap the rewards.

So trust in the Universe even as it’s throwing shit in your face – trust that it’s leading you to something bigger, something better and at the end of it all you’ll be exactly where you are supposed to be – stronger and more knowledgeable and perhaps after enough of it confident that you can survive anything.

After all, it’s just life.
